Abstract

A book by Kamaruzzaman Bustamam Ahmad (KBA) that formulates his own experience and method of learning, from his time as a santri and student in Yogyakarta and his studies in Malaysia and Australia to becoming a professor at UIN Ar-Raniry Banda Aceh, as a guide for students and young researchers. Resting on three principles, sharing (sharing knowledge), caring (nurturing and caring for fellow seekers of knowledge), and producing knowledge, the book discusses how to read, take notes, hold discussions, write articles and books, conduct field research, build academic networks, and maintain intellectual discipline and ethos. KBA emphasises that learning is not merely collecting degrees, but a process of shaping oneself into a producer of knowledge that benefits society. The brain and circuit icon on the cover symbolises the fusion of human reason and technology in the production of knowledge.
