Council on Foreign Relations, New York · Vol. 96, No. 3, Mei/Juni 2017; sampul · 2017-05
Abstract
The May/June 2017 issue assesses the early practice of Trump's foreign policy under a title that plays on Dean Acheson's memoir, "Present at the Creation". G. John Ikenberry writes on the threats to the liberal order, Philip Gordon imagines Trump at war, Robert Mickey, Steven Levitsky, and Lucan Ahmad Way question whether American democracy is safe, while Matthew Kroenig offers a defence of Trump's policies. Jeff Colgan and Robert Keohane call the liberal order "rigged", and Douglas Irwin, the subject of the cover headline, explains the dangers of protectionism. Other essays discuss intelligence and the presidency, North Korea, the candidates for Supreme Leader of Iran, Brazil's corruption crisis, and America's innovation competitiveness.
