Abstract
The November/December 2022 issue opens with Kevin Rudd's essay, "The World According to Xi Jinping", on the Marxist-Leninist and nationalist ideology that shapes the Chinese leader's worldview. The cover also asks whether Russia is destined to decline, referring to the essay by Andrea Kendall-Taylor and Michael Kofman on Russia's dangerous decline and to Boris Bondarev, a former Russian diplomat who resigned in protest at the war in Ukraine. Other essays include G. John Ikenberry on the resilience of American power, Denise Dresser on Mexican democracy, Michael J. Green on China experts, Jeff Colgan and Nicholas Miller on the benefits of rivalry, Kenneth Rogoff on the era of inflation, Rana Foroohar on the post-neoliberal world, and Mo Ibrahim on Africa.
