Council on Foreign Relations, New York · Vol. 102, No. 6, November/Desember 2023; sampul · 2023-11
Abstract
The November/December 2023 issue opens with an essay by National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan, "The Sources of American Power", which sets out the foundations of the Biden administration's strategy. Robert M. Gates writes about the "dysfunctional superpower", and Keren Yarhi-Milo questions the rationality of foreign policy. Other essays discuss the return of the risk of nuclear escalation (Keir Lieber and Daryl Press), artificial intelligence already being used in war (Michèle Flournoy), the economic revolution of AI (James Manyika and Michael Spence), the real "Washington consensus", the new economic security state (Henry Farrell and Abraham Newman), from de-risking to resilience, and what America wants from China.
